about Christian

Christian often says to new clients “If I had a magic wand, what would be the best outcome for you?” His sole motivation is to get them the result they need.

By combining extensive expertise in commercial and property litigation with a candid approach, Christian often resolves matters early through informal negotiation and mediation, though he also has the experience and skills to litigate a complex matter to conclusion. Christian has also obtained a Masters in Applied Law, Majoring in Commercial Litigation from the College of Law.

“I enjoy the challenge of looking for the ‘needle in the haystack’ and solving a problem by being analytical and pragmatic. It makes success even more meaningful and rewarding.”

Christian’s clients include body corporates, real estate agents and businesses across a broad range of industries. He has particular expertise advising clients on matters including contractual disputes, partnership and trusts disputes, enforcement of security, property and lease disputes and consumer rights.

Macpherson Kelley in Queensland is a pre-qualified Local Buy supplier of Legal Services (LB311).

recent experience

  • advice on lease options

Christian acted for a lessee in a case where the landlord denied the extension on a term of lease under an option where the construction of the provisions under the lease were in dispute. Christian commenced proceedings in the Supreme Court for declaratory orders that the option was validly exercised. The lease was extended and prevailed in favor of the commercial perseverance of his client.

  • liquidator’s claims

Christian acted for a company director being pursued by a liquidator in a claim under the Corporations Act. Christian successfully challenged the validity of the claim and the assignment thereof and resolved the matter in the interest of his client.

  • misrepresentation and deceit

Christian represented purchasers in a contract of sale that suffered loss and damages arising from contractual misrepresentation regarding the quality of the land and dwelling sold. Christian filed proceedings in the Supreme Court and carefully obtained conclusive evidence to spearhead the matter to resolution by settlement and avoiding trial for his client.
