Experience

Reducing customer disputes and legal expenses My client was overwhelmed by difficult negotiation and delivery disputes with customers regarding its product sales and distribution arrangements.  After careful assessment, I identified that their agreements were both inflexible and not standardised.  I successfully developed contracts that streamlined the various supply agreements for product and service offerings, allowing managers easily select certain application terms.  Not only did this give managers greater flexibility when negotiating contracts with customers, it significantly reduced the number of complaints.  The new contracts also eliminated unnecessary recurring legal expenses.

Protecting IP overseas My client has difficulty commercialising intellectual property in foreign markets due to specific local ownership issues.  I developed a strategy to restructure the Australian entity, diving the rights of income between local and international ownership.  I also worked on establishing new ownership structures overseas to optimise the commercial benefits of distributing to different international market jurisdictions.   The IP was protected and could be enforced against competitors, and the Australian entity was able to continue operations  without disruption.
