Ron specialises in commercial litigation with his main area of practice being misleading or deceptive conduct claims. Other areas of special interest are:

Major Projects

Ron has dealt with all manner of cases ranging from collusive price-fixing and misleading or deceptive conduct cases under the Trade Practices Act to the less common cases of reversing unlawful transfers of assets. Some notable matters which Ron has handled include:

  • Acting for investors in Managed Investment Scheme projects operated by Timbercorp and Great Southern, both companies having collapsed in 2009
  • Defending a Franchisor in the first ever test case brought by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission under the new unconscionable conduct laws and Franchising Code of Conduct
  • Defending a petrol wholesaler in a price-fixing case brought by the ACCC
  • Advising overseas Franchisor on risk management issues flowing from the Trade Practices Act ahead of expanding the franchise into Australia
